pirmas
that is realli cool to see
old russian traditional looking
and I cant see any western influence in there
thats what I like to see
no, i actually think it looks westernized, just improper time. like old fashioned west europe.
Not even remotely so. This looks more like a copied American prom ball or somehting which you can see in cheap movies. Party dresses in this sugar cake style would never be worn in Western Europe and certainly not for school occasions.
It is not true party adresse can be western europe but this depends on intarraction and agreement.
i am just contacting for good interaction with a humble girl respectfull lady who ,will be the lucky one of my life and shaer with me all my wealth and life time.
Gal but antras…
biatch
Oh my, really ugly bitches. I wouldnt fuck ‘em, that I am sure of…
You’d prefer the ugly boys, wouldn’t you?
Nah, sorry, you aint got no chance mate… Try someone less succesful.
like you have a chance with ugly boys
These average village yokels look much better than the average village yokels in the US.
O RLY? Lucky me living in Sweden…
luck i fuck Sweedish girls a lot!
They’re naughty aren’t they =)
Outside of the northeastern US, I’ve never heard people refer to even the smallest of towns as “villages,” unless it’s a retirement “village” or “village” is used in an attempt to give a trendy suburb a well-rooted, cultured, neighborhood feel, when in fact it’s usually full of transplants from elsewhere.
As for who looks better . . . I’ve seen good and bad in both countries, but these do look nice.
But, I suppose if you’re just hell-bent on criticizing America, you’ll not agree anyway.
I hear village all the time… but wait, I’m from the UK, oh well.
My girlfriend is from the “Village” of Unadilla Nebraska.

You don’t have real villages in the USA.. your country is too new to have evolved that way. All those expatriate European entrepreneurs wanted instant cities!!
Nice photos. I like them because they seem like normal kids engaging in normal activities–trying to celebrate an achievement. I have seen the same wistful, hopeful looks on kids everywhere I’ve worked or traveled.
Hopefully they won’t get too drunk in their enthusiasm.
agreed, they look surprisingly normal:)
They graduate from the “high school” when being 18/19 yrs old in russia; compared to 22th yr. in USA…
cheers to a good journey!
Actually, most Americans graduate high school when they’re 17 or 18. With that being said, there are probably a few that graduate when they’re 19 just like there are a few to graduate when they’re 16. Some people even get the opportunity to attend college and high school at the same time and graduate college sooner.
Any ideas about how recent these photos are, and in what area of Russia they were taken? I like the scenery in the background in photos 9 and 18.
One of the ribbons says 2006 so I would assume they are from then.
This must be from a village somewhere… as Russian girls go this bunch isn’t especially attractive.
I agree.
I agree too… really sloppy journalism. ’some random Russian school’. We crave details details details…
Graduation in “vodkalogy”.
They certainly didn’t graduate from beauty school.
That’s so typical for this blog and for western press.
Let’s take the most ugly shots (of people, places, etc…) and publish them as representation of Russian society.
So typical!
Notice, the photographer publish only photos of few persons, other are hidden.
I don’t find these photos, or the people or places in them, to be ugly at all. In fact, I enjoy them much more than some of the glitzy magazines designed to promote a false image of Russia (or any other place, for that matter) as a land in which everyone is rich and glamorous. Who needs it? Only the vain and shallow, IMHO.
These photos are nice. Look at photo number 8–see how the girl is making sure her friend’s dress is “just right” before she goes into the party, while the curious kids on bikes pass by in the background, probably wondering what all the excitement is about? That is a great photo of people, and could be from any place where friends look out for each other. What’s wrong with it?
I feel sympathy towards these young people. They will remember this day as one of the happiest days in their lives.
I don’t think the wall paintings and other things looking strange to our stranger’s eye are going to spoil that. This is their natural cultural environment. Home.
Those “wall paintings” are the highest art objects. You don’t understand modern art at all.
I don’t think the wall paintings look “strange” at all. I’ve seen lots of similar things in different parts of the US, although mostly in the small-town areas, which really is where you will get a better idea of how most Americans prefer to live.
I sometimes think too many Americans see Moscow as representative of all of Russia, but also I think too many Russians (and other nationalities) may view NYC or Los Angeles, or whatever “gateway” city they visit, for example, as representative of all of the USA. That is not the case. A lot of Americans still prefer scenes just like what you see here–”normal” kids celebrating in a normal, everyday environment, without the gang-banging illiterate rappers, or the white trash that Hollywood glorifies and presents to the world as “America.”
Places like NYC, LA, Miami, Atlanta, etc. are often exciting to young people looking for something different, and even comfortable for older people who grew up in large urban areas. However, they are not considered ideal at all by many family-oriented people. That’s why you see so many people flee to the suburbs or to small towns within commuting distance, and longing for the nostalgic days when more of America was a lot like what you see in these photos.
Of course, I’m sure some will disagree with this assessment.
Maist Americans waa ken far moscow is min.
Your English is progressing very well, mate. Keep up the (hiccup) good work.
It never seizes to amaze me how mature the girls look and in particular, how juvenile the guys look. Like they are still in diapers, no hair to be found on their sacs..
GO TO HELL SCUMBAG
Nice young girls, but they must learn how to cover the pretty smooth skin, like the pearl, and the hair with the sensuous curls that remind me of the loops I flip while looking at them, in public. I am willing to bring them to Tehran and arrange for someone to teach them.
Also, I have a, uhm, . . . a “friend” who is looking for the wife. How can I, I mean how can HE contact the girl’s father to arrange the purchase for marriage?
Yours in marital bliss (from my “friend”)
M. Ahmadinejad
You are pussy deprived. You need to get laid really bad… I know you are a probably ugly as sin, but get a prostitute or something….your mind will open up then.
i like how most of the girls are taller than the boys. lol
I love the girls in their jean jackets over their prom dresses. Great pictures of what would have been normal kids in our country long time ago. So fresh. Bet nobody hired a limousine to get to this dance.
For those who wanted to know when were those picture taken:
They were taken on a saturday, 17th of june of 2006, the first one at 20:14 local time, with a Nikon D70 camera.
They were further edited with photoshop CS2 on a windows pc on the 19th of june of the same year.
It’s all in the EXIF data. Sure, someone might have edited it all and placed the data, but it doesnt seem likely.
Such happy times!
The BEST of times!
According to the author’s (R.I.P.) blog, it’s in Borisovo village by Mozhaisk town. Not far from Moscow. Pictures taken in June 2006. Take a look at the author’s blog - you’ll see many pictures of Russia, Chechnya, Afganistan etc. He was a very good photographer.
This cracks me up. I’m looking at the first photos at the top and my first impression is:
“Twelve year old Russian boy gets laid at graduation party.”
ROFLMAO.
I prefer the original graduation day photo set, you know, the set with all the hotties in the old soviet school outfits that look just like naughty french maid outfits. That’s what graduation day should look like.
Who let the dogs out?……who? who? who? who? who?
Thanking you kindly, my good man.
@ drunken language teacher
its good that the schools for retards let them have a ‘normal’ graduation, cause with heads that look that fucking munted the rest of society is going to shun them forever.
i have never seen so many ugly russian babes in one place. very unusual. i’ve been to many of these graduations, and that is the weakest one i’ve seen
OK, all you guys out there making fun of the woman need to get a life. Unless you can prove in person your wife/gf looks better, STFU. And even then come on, there is more to love than looks, especially as looks don’t last.
i think the girl with the jean jacket over her light-blue dress is pretty.
Don`t you see they all are from countryside?? In the cities we doesn`t have smth like this. We call them лимита [limi`ta], ugly girls with lot`s of make up, old-fashioned haircut, wearing ALL family gold (a pair of ear-rings; a chain; lots of cheap old rings)ohh….fuck
к чему ты это все сказал? тебе стыдно? поедь в село и научи как нужно одеваться. они лимита только снаружи а ты внутри.
those girls are hot!
Пробуем написать по-русски.

I love all young women! Especially, russian women! I want to make sexy with many as possible in my afterlife!
such pretty dresses the girls have on. looks like fun.
The expression on the blonde girl’s face who has the octopus for a boyfriend seems to say, “Will you get OFF me!”
