Lions of St. Petersburg

It is true, that lions is the symbol of the St. Petersburg. Walking in the city you can meet the images of lions almost everywhere: on the bridges, in facades of the houses and in the most of historical places.
So it is nothing surprising that the charity act, that took place in the city this summer, was called “The Lion Parade”.
See the exclusive footage of the Lion Parade from our special photographer.

It looks like they’ve been made of plastic. Using a very worn-out mold - like 10 generations old. No definition.
Cool
Liger’s are better
very cool!
In 2002, Washington DC had a similar exibition with donkeys and elephants (the donkey is the symbol of the Democratic party, the elephant is the symbol of the Republican party)… there were 200 donkey and elephant statues that were placed all over the city, decorated and painted by local artists. Here are some samples:

In 2004 there was a similar art exhibition, this time focusing on pandas - the Washington DC National Zoo had just received a panda (or a new baby panda was born… can’t remember), and the whole town was caught in the adorable grip of panda fever. Here’s a slide show of the pandas that were placed all over town (click on the NEXT button to see more):

Moscow needs to put on its own show… PREVYED, MEDVED anyone???
We have the exact same thing going on here in Seattle, WA USA. The only difference is that we use pigs. I have to stand next to a pig every day on my break, while swarms of people that breathe with their mouth wide open take pictures of the pig. It’s sad. The Lions are much nicer.
Hah, I guess this is a worldwide phenomenon again (like the wacky Medieval Fair people from yesterday). Here in Texas, in Dallas, there are Pegasus statues like this all over town painted in different ways. There is even a giant one downtown on top of a building.
No dude you’ve got it all wrong and I mean completely wrong. The Pegasus is the company emblem of Mobile Oil. There is a neon Pegasus on the Dallas skyline.
Over in Fort Worth (Cowtown / Where the West Begins), there was an artist that made a bunch of life size ceramic horses a few years ago for a charity auction. Some of these cows are scattered around the metroplex.
There are also some cows on outside of Dallas’s Reunion Arena & Convention Center (http://www.journal-topics.com/photos/2006/TR-Dallas.jpg).
In BC, Canada we’ve got painted bears all over the place. Here’s a photo gallery of them:

It’s neat to see that this is a world wide sort of thing.
hey hey!
Prevyed Medved! Prevyed, krasovchegi!
That first one has the face of Putin.
Its so true! Amazing! It really does look like Putin!
Yes he is right………………….
This is very impressive. Grade schoolers around here are not nearly that talented at making worthless crap to take up space.
What is your opinion on the worth of a sunset?
Well, they’re worth a lot more than your dim witted comments. Also they don’t look like crap like these sorry excuses for art.
That’s what I thought. Go play in an oil spill, dumbass.
Hey comrade, this is not a pipe, it’s my schlong and I’m about to slap you across the face with it.
Replying to you is like punching the retards as they hop off of the short bus. I would feel bad about it if you weren’t such a wide eyed, grinning idiot.
Your keepers should really keep you on a tighter leash so that you don’t show the whole world how much of an imbecile you are.
plonk
This is not a pipe, in your ass but base ball bat. ! ! ! !why you always strike like wild hog.
You’re gay like me
Go do your homework.
Agreed……
Here is a hint. If the grammar and punctuation is butchered, it is one of just one of my fans. It is very flattering to have so many impersonators though.
Here in San Jose, California a few years ago we had a very similar art exhibition. All around the city were identical sculptures of sharks, but each one painted differently. (sharks because that’s the mascot of the city’s hockey team)
A year ago there was a similar event in Munich (Germany), also with lions.
I like only the sailor lion.. all the other are homo-lions or toxic-lions…
Great !
They did the same thing in Nashville, Tennessee with giant catfish in 2004 I think.
we used buffalo in Oklahoma, I heard they used penguins in Tulsa…not sure why they are as land locked as we are.
had frogs here three or so years ago to benefit childrens home of detroit. apparently they made a shitload of cash, but where does one put a 4 x 3 frog once youve bought the damn thing?

we had the same in Saarbrücken (germany) in 2000: http://www.pbase.com/ralf/saarbrucken_art
Oops looks like my first attempt didn’t make it;
I said: we had the same Lions things in Saarbrücken (germany) back in 2000
Well Pros, I have noticed that most Republicans are baldy fags. Someone should make a list, i can’t keep up with all the Republican Baldy Fags. Maybe some Republicans are fags, and the rest are pedos, who knows?
