Paper Plates

Paper car plates in Russia 1

Normal car plates in Russia are made of the paint coated steel - like in European countries. But it seems this guy has lost one of his plates and decided to make an alternative - just to print out a full size of his plates on the paper. Really why not, I’ve heard that in India they don’t get plates from the state at all, they just get alpha-numerical combination from the road inspection and produce the plates by themselves. The methods therefore vary greatly - some draw them right on the car, some on wooden plates etc etc. This guy can give a good example for Indian drivers..

Not all European car numberplates are painted steel.

In the UK, they’re usually plastic (clear plastic, stick-on letters and numbers on the back, and a stick-on reflective plastic backing over the whole), and none are made by the state: if you need a replacement number plate, you just visit the car parts shop and ask them to make you one. Recent changes in the law mean you now need to produce the registration document for the vehicle concerned, to try to limit the number of fake numberplates on the street.

You stalk Igor? I lost my plate in a vodka related crash. A evil child stole it to feed his family. Wat else should I have done?

I’ve seen people driving with their license plate number scrawled onto a piece of copy paper, held in the back window with scotch tape.

I’m from India, and what you are saying is not true. People need to apply at the motor-vehicles bureau (the government) and get a vehicle-number from them. This number is unique within the country. The plates are made of steel, with black lettering on a white background.
