This pole has fallen down on the street of Karaganda without any visible reason, just in the middle of the heavy working day at the busy street. So beware on your travel to Russia such things.

Karaganda isn’t in Russia…like Guantanamo isn’t in Cuba.
It’s nice to see Kazakhstan using the billions of U.S. dollars it gets from oil & gas, to re-build their crumbling Soviet era society. There must be allot of black Mercedes Benz running around with self-engrandised leaders with no concept of funding public works. Moreover, when the petroleum $’s run out…Russia will be back bigger than ever to sheppard the goat herders.

    4. author is talking as if this hapens every day…..accidents happen…EVEN in former USSR…(i know its hard to believe:P)

    5. exmonkey says:

Kazakhstan has its problems but a strong middle class and more development than the rest of the CA republics. Some things are aging like this pole, but that’s hardly an indicator of economic and democratic development.
