Bar Code Building
We had already a thread about strange buildings back from Soviet era.
Today we’ve got another piece of strange architecture, now from modern Russia.
That’s a building made in a form of giant bar code, same bar code we see on all the goods in supermarket.
It seems to be an office building made of modules.
It’s from St. Petersburg, Russia, and was submitted by Jolq, would somebody be able to read the barcode?
Zemlyane
Another Russian music video.
That was a cult Soviet song, from early 80s, about flight to space. It was very popular at that time. Band name is “Zemlyane”.

This is an except from Russian TV Show. Some think it’s fake, I also think it looks more faked than real. But it’s being broadcasted for all 140 million population of Russia without any statement that it’s real so most of TV viewers thought such things are real.
Cigarettes and Fuel
The jokes about blondes are simply international. I don’t think that the colour of the hair changes something in a person’s behavior, and this one could be also a joke but it’s real.
A blonde in St. Petersburg ran out of fuel, so she decided to fuel the car herself with a jerrican she had in her trunk. She took it out, then grabbed a funnel, so she was thinking she was doing everything right. The only think she forgot is to put out her cigarette.
Drunk Russian Guy Is Harassing Passers-By
This video is another example of what one can meet while on his travel to Russia.
Here is a drunk Russian guy is harassing different people in small Russian town.
His friends are taping him, they find his actions to be very funny.
Moscow, Police and People
On Saturday November 4th, 2006 there was some civil disorder in centre of Moscow.
This day is some sort of Russia holiday devoted to some historical events of liberation of Russia from Polish and Swedish occupation back in medieval times.
So there were group of people who wanted to express their opinion about liberation of Russia nowadays from ethnic groups they consider to be enemies now occupying Russia.
Moscow authorities banned this events so everybody expressing his attitude on Saturday in the centre of Moscow were arrested.
You can see some photos from this event.
People were taken from streets. Some witnesses say that anybody could be caught even without participating in expressing opinion action.
Doomed to Wheelbarrow
Some time ago in Russia they had chained prisoners to wheelbarrows they were working with, so that to make it hard for the to run away. If such a person decided to run he had to take the wheelbarrow with himself.
This particular short was called “The Prisoner on Rest”, and one can clearly see the wheelbarrow somewhere nearby.
Moscow Subway Violent Fun
We had some photos from Moscow subway before, now there is a small video of what might happen when you travel to Russia.
The guys on video first were just standing and looking around to find somebody to fight with. Then they spotted two guys sitting on the other side of the wagon, they approach to them and start the fight without any reason, just to make a cool video.
What amazes me is the behavior of the people standing around. You can clearly see how in the beginning of the fight some people move away from this dangerous spot and some move closer – trying to stop the fight. It seems that most of people are afraid of such things happening right before them because they can also got harmed by this, but some are ready to help and to stop the violence – come from the distant part of the wagon. A clear picture of how the society works.
Moscow City Hummers
Hummer SUVs are popular in Russia too, especially in Moscow.
But I think people of Russia crash Hummers more often, due to the Russian roads quality and their behavior on those roads.
