Missile Forces Museum

There is a unique museum located on the territory of the former Soviet Union, and to be more precise, in Ukraine. In the museum there are displayed many exhibits of Strategic Missile Forces. There is no other museum of such kind in the whole world; except one that is located in the USA, but tourists are not allowed there and all the guided tours are prohibited. On this photo you can see intercontinental ballistic missile CC-18 “Satan.”
Polar Bears Prefer Bread

Russian sailors serving on submarines has noticed interesting fact - the most preferred food for polar bears is bread, they like it very much, just look on those photos, how they risking their lives jump from one ice piece to another to get closer to the submarine and ask some more of this when the submarine appears on the surface of the cold polar ocean breaking the thin ice apart.
Cold Cold North

They say that there is no life in the north but only ever-frost. And if you are sitting in your apartments in Moscow, watching TV and feeling bored because of “warm” weather and drabness, why not to travel northward and check by yourself? And so did one company of best friends, they mounted their Lada and made their way to the very northern Russian city, Naryan-Mar, that is located even farther than one of the most northern and coldest cities of Russia, Arkhangelsk. Blockade of Leningrad

70 years ago the city of Saint-Petersburg was called Leningrad and when the Second World War was triggered off, Leningrad was forced to withstand the fascist terror and 3 years long enemy’s push. Germans decided to stab second country’s most populated city which as well had been the country’s weapon broker. But they didn’t choose any aggressive tactics and made a blockade that lasted more than 850 days and led to starvation and constant disorders within the city.

In one of its inside courts, Minsk Wheeled Tractors plant has housed so-to-say “Jurassic park” where thousands of iron giants made back in the times of the Cold War dwell there thus far. In 1947 the Cold War didn’t started yet, so the relations between 2 military allies, the USSR and the USA, allowed such “exchange” trips. Fearsome Buratino

There is a quite exotic weapon in Russian army – a heavy flame-throwing system HFS-1 Buratino. According to the data provided by the Russian arms company, its barrage destroys everything that lives within a radius of 3 kilometers around its target. Its ammunition contains mixture of liquids (propyl nitrate type) and light metals (magnesium powder). During the flight of such ammunition the mixture is being interfused with internal device in order to gain uniformity.
