Luxurious Vacation Homes of the Soviet Party Leaders [photos]

Soviet party leaders were fond of spending their leisure time at luxurious mansions Soviet state has built for them. Some of the leaders had a few of those and here we have some of them for your viewing pleasure.

We will start with a Stalin’s dacha. (Dacha = countryside vacation home). He had a few of those. Here is one from Kuntsevo village near Moscow. It even had it’s own personal bomb shelter (on the pic above).

Stalin liked this place and actually he died here in 1953.

    I believe the second foto is an elevator. Maybe it goes to a bomb shelter in the basement of the dasha.
    It appears that the elite rulers of Russia have gone from elegant dashas to absolutely stunning palaces that rival the Versailles in France..
