Twenty-three years ago a first Chechen war was starting taking place in this Southern region of Russia named Chechnya, or Chechen Republic Ichkeriya at the moment the war started. Here are some photos, mainly from a Chechen capital city Grozny or “Terrible”.

    Russia loves separatism in its neighbouring countries (starting with Ukraine) but hates it at home.
    Russia hates fascism in Ukraine, but loves it everywhere else (including at home).

    This just looks like screen captures from a documetary or news footage. The video playback controls were even left on one of them. Poor article.

    I can remember clearly this conflict. The videos of the day of the russian interior polizei and regulars fighting islamic insanity. The corpeses piled up. The boxcars of KIA russians abandoned after the shooting stopped. So much like Vietnam in some ways to be very heart wrenching for the russians there fighting.
    The insanity of the communist dogma that america fought in vietnam was bad enough…but the religious cancer the russians fought then (and again) was considerably more venemous.
