Those are photographs by Soviet photograph Sergei Podgorkov. Mostly people and their faces, but also scenes from Soviet life in Leningrad, now St.Petersburg. From 1970s to 1990.

November 7th, 1984. November 7th was sort of Soviet “Independence Day” – the day when 1917 Revolution anniversary was celebrated.

Apraxin Court – one of the famous markets of Leningrad.
