Russian mobile mortar mounted on a ATV

Before, Russian soldiers had to transport mortars only by foot normally. You can see on the photo below. Now on a recent exhibition Russian weapons factory introduced an ATV that carries a mortar and can be used to transport and shoot it.

Here is how it looked before. Mortar was disassembled and given to five soldiers – to each different pieces. This way it got transported.

And now it can be carried and operated just by one person on this mobile ATV. Also, instead of carrying just six mines it can carry forty of them.

Also this ATV mounted mortar has 1.5 longer range and can use more powerful mines.

Here you can see a crate to transport mines and a mortar, disassembled.

And here is a video, showing two ways to carry a mortar – on a truck and now the newest – on an ATV:

It’s not “mounted”. It’s merely “transported” on stock 6×4 РМ 650-2 painted in camouflage pattern.

Heck, you can transport a mortar in the back of a Toyota pickup truck.

This vehicle barely looks (and works) like your paper-made Toyota.
      Try something else…

This is a real All Terrain Vehicle. And is also very cool.
It’s use reminds me of the German Kettentrad, another cool machine.
