Huge Abandoned Underground Hiding Place for the Soviet Submarines in Pacific

Posted on March 8, 2017 by tim

This was a top secret Soviet project. To avoid uneccessary attention of American satellites it was built solely under ground. Tremendous amounts of ground was removed to create huge tunnels under ground filled with water so that a few huge atomic submarines can stay there and hide at once at Pacific coast of Russia. It took over twenty years to almost complete this thing, construction works started in late 1960s. But then USSR collapsed and it’s now staying as a huge monument of the great projects USSR was building. As you see on the map above the thing was huge. Let’s see what’s inside.

This place stays abandoned now, but is still guarded by armed patrol.

Guards have a right to open fire without warning.

These guys risked their lives and went inside to bring you those awesome photos.

What an unbelievable waste of resources. All over the Russia, these relics. How much better country it could have been, investing in hospitals, schools, art, instead of these dead end military projects run by paranoid men.
