Small rocket ship “UGLICH”

As a part of Adex arms exhibition, which was held in Baku from 27 to 30 October, a small rocket ship “Uglich” arrived at the port, where I was lucky to have an excursion. Blogger went there and see what he got:

For addition of descriptions, experts are invited in comments – to write down everything that I did not have time to.

Small rocket ship “Uglich” project 21631 is a multi-purpose ship “river-sea”, it is equipped with the most modern types of artillery, missile, anti-sabotage, anti-aircraft and radio weapons and is designed to safeguard and protect the economic zone of the state.

The architecture of small missile ship meets the requirements to reduce radar visibility.

History of the ship

Small rocket ship “Uglich” was developed by designers of “Zelenodolsk Design Bureau” and built by shipbuilders “Zelenodolsk plant in the name of A.M. Gorkiy”, laid on the stocks of the shipyard on November 2, 2011, and launched on April 13, 2013.

In August 2013 SRS “Uglich” with tugboats arrived in the port of Astrakhan city, and in September 2013 went through inland river routes, about 1500 kilometers, and arrived in the port of Makhachkala, where the passage of the running tests began.

During the test, all running ship indicators of quality, performance and interaction of all shipboard weapons systems, devices and mechanisms declared by designers and shipbuilders were confirmed.

October 5, 2013, during the mooring and running tests on the SRS “Uglich” coursework task SC-1 was passed.

November 6, 2013, at the stage of default running tests the coursework task SC-2 was passed.

In the period from December 12 to December 14, 2013, the ship was at sea for state testing, during which the ship’s crew successfully implemented artillery firing, two rocket firings with precision universal “Caliber-NK” missile system, one shooting carried out on maritime goals and one on the coast. All the missiles accurately hit the target position, thereby missile firing evaluated as “excellent”.

December 20, 2013, after passing the state tests the act of surrender-acceptance of the ship was drawn up and signed. After signing the acts documents were given to the Chief of the Navy for their approval and inclusion of a ship in the Caspian Flotilla.

We climb aboard, in the background the skyscrapers of the future hotel Kempinski; It seems that they symbolize the gates.

By the way, they promise to move port out from there.

The excursion was held by the captain of the ship commander Michael, we started from the bottom deck, then climbed to the “second floor” looked into the cabin, looked in a special secret “cabinet”, walked through the cabin and finished the journey on the nose of SRS.

Aft gun mount can be seen on the upper deck, and below there is a passive jamming system, needed for protection the ship.

The passive jamming system is designed to improve the effectiveness of the ship’s air defense by setting electronic and optoelectronic decoys.

View from above.

The uniqueness of the aft gun mount AK-630M2 “Duet” is made of two trunks, which are on the top of each other.

Installation rate is 10 thousand shots per minute. In fact, the AK-630M2 can “cut” the ship up!

Each shaft is rotated in different directions.

The amount of ammunition – 4,000 weapons of 30 mm caliber, firing distance of 6 km. It is designed to destroy enemy air marine.

If I am not mistaken, in the white capsules, as well as on the icebreaker there are inflatable rafts.

“Bending” – the ship’s turret launcher with an opto-electronic system of detection and tracking, representing the adaptation of SAM “Street” with missile “Igla” for use as a ship’s anti-aircraft missile complex of a short-range.

What is that? Maybe I haven’t heard.

14.5 mm marine column book-rests machine gun mount (14.5 mm MCBRMGM) is designed to fight with the enemy surface, coast and air lightly armored targets.

Installed on the deck of combat boats and ensures the defeat of surface and coastal targets at ranges up to 2,000 m at a height of 1500 m.

Marine optical finder.

Silhouettes of airplanes of opponents of the Caspian states.

Radar of general detection 5P-26 “Positive”.

One more “Bending ” and the main caliber – 100-mm artillery unit A-190.

Detection station can find aircraft within a radius of 120 km. Right under the hood, there is a TC-25 jamming complex, which can cause problems with nearby ships, causing the failure of the equipment work.

What is that?

Missile deck has got 8 mines, in which winged missiles “Caliber” are placed. Powder gas pushes the rocket from the “cup” to the height of 500 meters and it starts flying, the rotation angle of 360 degrees missiles. The uniqueness of the “Caliber” is that the ship can shoot from any position.

Shore rocket can be used in two ways: with an ordinary warhead (potentially high-risk weapons) flight range of 1500 km, and with a nuclear warhead 2,500 km.

When flying out, the missile hits the cover made of composite materials.

Optical sight.

Behind the green curtain, there is the most secret place – the “brains of the ship “, where the commander comes for the training and where missile launches management is conducted. I couldn’t photograph there.

A190 “Universal” – a universal shipborne artillery system, created by designers of the Nizhny Novgorod JSC Central Research Institute “Burevestnik “.

Commercially available in two versions, differing in switchboards closing. A190E – standard tower, A190-01 – the tower is made with “stealth” technology.

These guys are crazy. They have totally incompatible symbols all in one place. They have a red star next to a religious icon. They have the flag with Russian anti-Soviet Andrew’s cross, and they have the communist red star on the same ship. This is EXACTLY like having a swastika next to a star of David.

    • Rashomon says:

We already know you like the Swastika symbol too much, little “Karlo”. Even if the Real Nazis wanted to extarminate your family, and all those “inferior” slavic folks –like you. And many did die…

…”They have totally incompatible symbols all in….” -LOL. That’s exactly your case.

      Nice, cool ship indeed.

what a garbage in your head?

    Awesome ship.

Nice that the ship provided some snacks for the visitors. Hospitality.

Thank you for sharing! I was particularly interested in the galley, as a cook for many years, its always interesting to see the kitchen and equipment. I noticed though all the good chef knives had vanished … Its good for Russia to show its strength and abilities, I don’t like how there are attempts to draw Russia into war by the U.S and Britain interests. No one wants another world war, except these psychopaths in government and corporations who want to make billions off one (like they did with Iraq and Afghanistan). I think Russia has some very advanced thinking, and the wealthy fear that the average westerner will wake up and realize they too can get rid of GMO seeds and foods, keep their country growing only Organic Heirloom food, etc. We have quite a few Russians here in Australia, I shared a flat with one guy many years ago and learned a lot, he changed the ideas I had about the country and people. I have always wanted to visit and spend time there, I really like your narrow gauge Railway systems (children’s railway). Keep up the good work – Keep up the good work ;)
