This Military Airfield is Raid by Birds, Hundreds of them are Here

Posted on August 9, 2016 by Andrey

At the time when some planes were on a mission, and the others were about to take the night shift, the airbase was raided from the air.

First, there were few of them.

But then, the number of birds in the sky started exceeding the number of birds on the ground.

Gradually gathering into a huge flock, the thrushes starlings created a live cloud…

… that either fell to the ground….

 … or soared skywards.

The commotion was also joined by crows.

Despite the fact that the raiders prevailed in their number, they failed capturing the airfield.

No birds were injured during the shoot. Perhaps, only the birds got a bit dirty that were on the ground.

That’s the beauty.

What model is that aeroflot plane in the first and last pic with the “broken back”?

At some airports they have specially trained birds of prey (hawks) to catch some birds, and scare the rest away.
Big flocks of birds and jet engines don’t go well together.
