Making Russian Pancakes on top of Crimean Mountain

Posted on October 5, 2015 by tim

A popular Russian language blogger Slava decided to surprise his girlfriend with a breakfast she for sure never had before and which is not soon to forget. For this they climbed one of the tallest rocks in Crimea, near the place they live and he cooked Russian pancakes for her there. Let’s see how it looked like:

Slava took all the components with him to the hike. It was some milk, some flour, a few eggs, some fruit and vegetable oil. Also he carried with himself a small gas stove, a small pan, utensils and plates.

Here, he started cooking with eggs.

Then added some milk. Have you ever seen cooking with such a view out in wilderness?

Then he added some flour and mixed it all together.

Then heated his stove with a propane he brought too.

And started baking the pancakes themselves! Crépes or Russian pancakes are extremely thin, so the process requires constant attention or they burn.

You also need a skill of flipping them.

So, obviously his girlfriend was enjoying the views – the boy is cooking, the view is nice and clear and the morning breeze is fresh. She even took a camera and made some photos!

It’s nice to see proper pancakes – none of your puffy little French crepes. They look like good old fashioned English pancakes, sugar and lemon juice for me please. I’ll have 4. Good post, wish I could understand it.
