New Ukrainian Fortifications near Mariupol city

Posted on September 16, 2015 by tim

The Ukrainian Defense Department has published photos of new fortification structures they are erecting these days near Mariupol city. This city was widely rumoured to be the scene of the next major battle last year after Donetsk and Lughansk, but it turned out to be relatively peaceful except for one devastating shelling of the city suburbs and maybe a few other minor incidents. So they are building these structures – not from wood as might be seen here, but from metal boxes

So those are the metal boxes – bunkers dug into ground and covered with 1,5 meters of concrete and wood and as they say “can withstand the shelling from Russian weapons”.

Doors and windows can be locked with huge metal locks.

This is unique engineering made by the Ukrainian army and catering to today’s needs. For example, it’s hard to design these structures in parts of the world where there are no major conflicts, so they have built it with the experience they got in last two years and according to the needs of their army.

All they need is one bunker buster and its all over for the occupants of those bunkers unfortunately.

It’s not 1914 anymore silly Ukrainians!

The Nazis Poroshenko, Iatsenyuk and Yarosh, have an army that really knows how to build blockaus: the German army of WW2 is an example for them. These people, or rather their ancestors greeted the Wehrmacht with open arms. As we say at home, in France, “the dogs are not cats.”

Ah, but do you have more than one?
