So That They Could not Buy or Sell Unless They Had the Mark

Posted on June 18, 2015 by tim

An engineer in Moscow, Russia has implanted an NFC chip into his left arm. With this chip he is able to travel on the local public transportation by simply waving his hand and paying this way for a ride.

The doctor who made this happen has taken a chip and put it into a silicon coating, then placed into the guys hand. This chip allows him to pay for rides and also he can top up the balance by using his smartphone app. proezdnoy_metro_03

He also can open the NFC enabled door locks with his hand. He plans to get one to his own apartment doors. Also, because PayWave or Apple Pay systems use similar NFC chips he might be able to pay for his groceries and even more pretty much soon.proezdnoy_metro_04

The guy himself is pretty happy with his body modification, however some of the religious groups sure this is a sign of coming of shady times.

RFID chip is like magnet bar on plastic card or like barcode on product.
Except, to copy magnetic strip, you need to have physical access to it and to copy barcode, you need to have visual access to it.
To copy RFID chip contents, you don’t need to have either.
Any RFID chip can be copied from distance, yes, even those in passports.
Soon, many people can ride for free, and even get free groceries.
(Ok, technically not free, but this guy, and others like him, will be paying for your groceries)

Nice gesture in that first image; very appropriate considering the subject matter. And for other dumb-ass Texans, it’s *not* “Hook ‘em, Horns”.
