Cool Russian NIVA Hack

Posted on May 9, 2015 by tim

If you live in Europe you probably know this car – Russian LADA NIVA. A cheap 4×4 coupe car with a price tag often three-four times lower than any other SUVs. Its design stays unchanged at most – except some minor changes – since its initial launch in early 1980s. So what this guy made to his NIVA makes it really stand out. Take a look and tell me what do you think?

There is a lot of life left in that simple old design.
Those 21st century tweaks to it’s appearance look outstanding.
Based on the mid 1970’s Fiat 124, just bigger and stronger. Simple works very well in the world of 4×4 off roaders.

Good job I hope he will change door handles when factory didn’t change them for 3 decades….

Nice body mods, but given the quality of Russian roads I imagine it won’t be long before it’s all torn up.

I’ve always like the Niva. Small and tough enough to go anywhere.

I would like to have one, but they don’t sell them in the US.

Nice. Lada Niva could be a fun bush basher. Looks like its equivalent to the Suzuki Sierra.

Looks very good, much better looking than the original Lada. The designer / builder has some real talent, and then to add the quality of the modifications are really right up with the worlds best, well done!!
