Over fifteen years this establishment for the preschoolers in Krasnoyarsk city Russia makes kids dousing with ice cold water. The temperature outside is often below zero centigrade (30 and below F), nevertheless kids together with their adult supervisors undress to their underwear and go outside in group to throw a bucketful of cold water all over them. Every day. More photos inside:

As you can see how the other kids are dressed – the weather is not playing jokes over there – in the middle of Siberian woods.

Kids seem to be content with their new class.

And this is the principal, lying down on the snow near the ice opening where she just swam.

The preschool name is “An Icicle” which written proudly on their wall. Here another group of kids of different age lead by the principal go to the ice swimming.

In the U.S. if a school does anything that involves undressing a kid down to their underwear, someone is going to prison.

However in Russia it’s just a fun outside activity!

    Pedobear approves

it’s not that big a deal, the water is always 32° or warmer and the air may be much less so the water feels warm briefly, then you get cold soon.
