Lada Niva Goes Six Wheeler

Posted on March 25, 2015 by tim

Some enthusiasts from Russian city Samara – home city of Russian car making giant  LADA have come out with a cool mod for the Soviet first LADA SUV NIVA. Originally this was a smaller car but they have built it into a full scale pick up truck with six wheels! See more inside:

The car original color was not all that catchy.

But it shows in detail how they welded an extension of the car.

Now fit a 6 litre V8 with supercharger and we call it a truck.

    Poor man’s Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6.

Are those rear tires just for looks or do they actually drive? It also looks like if you turn too sharp they will just slide.

  4. Gregabob says:

Would be cool if it was 6 wheel drive, with a power divider at #2 axle, driven #3 axle and transfer case for driving #1 axle.

  5. Steamed McQueen says:

An interesting concept but I wonder about practicality. A Niva’s strong suit is it’s short wheelbase, light weight and narrow body ensuring it can go just about anywhere. The extended body and additional axle would make it harder to operate off road.

  6. Tutan Camon says:

For what purpose are the chains in the front of the car?

  7. Tshuhna says:

Hard times for Niva’s 1600 cc engine.
