2 A Penguin in St. Petersburg River

A Penguin in St. Petersburg River

Posted on March 17, 2015 by tim

A few days ago in one of the rivers or “channels” of St. Petersburg there was a penguin standing on a piece of ice spotted by passers by. There is a little story about it inside:

Well, as you might have already guessed the penguin is not real but its an artwork by a local artist. He created it for the Christian art contest, however it has been rejected from being displayed. So the artist has put it on ice and now he says he waits to ice melt so that the penguin can float away. Meanwhile it has become a city’s small landmark with photos of it being massively posted on social networks and alike.

Fun, but instead of putting it where he did it would have been more interesting if it had been placed near Chizhik Pyzhik!

It looks to me the artist has already won.
