An Innovation Day: Exhibition of Novelty Armaments

Posted on February 2, 2015 by tim

August 2014 there was an “Innovation Day”. But basically this was an Innovation fair of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. So the Russian blogger Said who is fond of military equipment (according to his posts) has visited this fair and is now sharing what he saw there: the most innovative military machinery and weapons according to 2014. Want to take a look:

A mobile radar car. “Used to find targets in L-band” – whatever it means!  Based on  KAMAZ truck.

Electric loaders MP-20.

And now goes the newest tank – the T-90A.

A relic T-34 – was most popular Soviet tank in World War 2. In school they taught kids that the war was won thanks to this light and mobile tanks.

And new T-72B3 tank.

And a T-80B tank.

    Nice pictures , thanks.
Traditionally the USA have been the world largest arms exporter with Russia now closing in .

The first vehicle with the bulldozer blade looks like a new version of the BREM-1, based on the T-72 chassis. http://www.military-today.com/engineering/brem1.htm
The large truck looks like a Ural-4320 with a command post on the back.
The second bulldozer is an MDK-3 ditching machine, the thing on the back is for digging.
The large thing you don’t recognise is a folding bridge.
And finally the thing that looks like a shuttle seems to be a Flyback Booster similar to this one:

    Hello,

The unidentified vehicles are the following ones:

    1) BREM-1, an ARV based in the T-72: http://www.military-today.com/engineering/brem1.htm

    2) A variant of the URAL-4320 truck: http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product1580.html

    3) MDK-3 trenching vehicle, based in the T-64: http://www.unusuallocomotion.com/medias/files/mdk-3-trencher.pdf

    4) IMR-2, an engineer vehicle based in the T-72: http://www.military-today.com/engineering/imr2.htm

    5) MTU-72 bridgelayer, using a T-72 hull: http://www.military-today.com/engineering/mtu_72.htm

    ;)

All these war machines will soon kill Ukrainians.

No need to wait. They already do :)

Since a CZenda-styled comment is missing, I’ll try to rectify this omission:

‘These weapons of destruction are a clear sign that Putler – a warmongering paranoid cannibal who has rewritten every history book in his country and is still spreading his diabolic lies everywhere (and you know that every claim coming from Russia has to be a lie) – keeps threatening our otherwise peaceful and thoroughly pro-Russian world by funding his colossal war machine (something yet unseen and unimagined) and went as far as to put his disgusting, murderous killing machines on a show in broad daylight – a fact so terrible and monstrous that, were it not a fact, I would hardly believe it myself. If this is not a reason for NATO (an otherwise peaceful and pro-Russian humanitarian organisation) to step up its pressure on the Russian Reich, then I cannot think of one’.

  5. JBDragon says:

Page 3, second from bottom, looks like a bridge building type vehicle. That’s a Bridge on top that opens up on each end and placed over a smaller Gap for others to be able to cross. They should be able to get that placed pretty quickly.

The first vehicle is counter battery radar vehicle and it is used to locate enemy artillery positions.
