Siberian Winter in the Settlement of Gold Workers

What forms the real Siberian character? You will never know until you come to a place like this. It is formed by constant snowfalls, frost, -30C, neverending winds… And people do live here never even thinking about another, more comfortable and warmer life…

A Russian blogger Ilya Stepanov (fotomm) came to the settlement Priiskoviy of goldworkers just for a week and he would probably have no desire to stay there any longer…

Gold has been mined here for a long time. The population still hope that this industry is going to fully revive Priiskoviy. They do their best to restore the production but the place still resembles some after-war settlement.

In present days this settlement is mostly known as a favorite place of those who can’t live without snowmobile and freeride madness. There is even a hospital here for them…

Priiskoviy is a small settlement (600 people) situated in the Alatau mountains at the borders of Khakasia, Kemerov and Krasnoyarsk region. The nearest railway station is 101 km from here.
