Those are new SU-30M2s

Posted on October 10, 2014 by tim

Can’t stop posting these, aren’t they nice? A pacific based 22nd Air Force regiment has received new SU-30M2 jets and here they are caught in photos by Yuri. They come here to replace SU-27CMs. Just see some pics.

Can you translate the letters on the tail–‘BBC POCCNN’ please, I looked at a Cyrillic notepage and it came out as ‘BBS ROSSEE’ but that makes little sense, either. Thanks!

Maybe there will be the day, when Russia make similar efforts for benefit of the people instead killing machines. Same message to US.

The earlier comments are correct . . . as far as they go. To a Westerner familiar with Russian aero jargon, read it as “VVS Russia,” or, simply, “Russian Air Force.” It is the equivalent of “USAF” or “RAF.” What may be of greater interest is what, to this reader, is sort of a re-introduction of the acronym “VVS” to Russian aircraft livery. I had not seen it in some years.
