Getting into Secret Navy Ship Building Dock

Trips to such places were utterly secret and impossible in Soviet times. In modern times things might be changed however Aslan, the blogger, says that the security service of this place was following him all around and even when he just took a shot of peaceful workers who were standing there, the security guy asked why he needed such a photo? Anyways, he got into the large navy boat building plant and here are his photos and report on it.

That’s the entrance to the place.

Here is the ship! The corvette which was started in 2006 and is still not finished. They plan to have it ready by the end of this year.

This is a stairway that leads to the corvette itself.

“Even knowing that this ship is not the biggest around, I was shocked at its size in this outdoor location”, says Aslan.

The ship’s length is over 100 meters (330 feet) and width is 13 meters (42.9 feet)

Aslan thinks that this is going to be a mounting place for the one turret the ship has which can shoot as fast as 80 shots per minute at a maximum range of 21.3 km.

The boat’s body is ready, so now they work on the various things above the body. Aslan says that in the photo you can see that this part is made from composite materials (dark grey) not steel, to prevent it appearing clearly on radars. He says security was not allowing people to approach this object or to take clear photos of it.

“We mind the deadlines or even earlier than deadlines – this is our law to work on the governmental orders!”

People earn here pretty moderate salaries as Aslan said he saw ads outside offering a sum of around $1k for one month of work.

In the neighboring dock there is another corvette being built. This one was started in 2012 and they plan to finish it in 2015, says Aslan.

Thanks to Aslan for those cool photos!

Not safe to have the high-pressure gas cylinder unsecured like that in picture #15. If it were to fall and the valve break off, it could shoot around like a rocket, possibly killing people.

You also forgot to mention that they should also wear life jackets and wear safety goggles at all times. Why stop there? How about making sure their coffee cups have HOT written on them so that people like you know its HOT and dont burn themselves.
