7 Russian Bombers Preparing to Take Off

Russian Bombers Preparing to Take Off

Posted on August 3, 2014 by tim

Russian blogger Sergey was witnessing a four hour long preparation for a flight of three ultra long range supersonic missile carrying bomber TU-22M “Backfire” planes. Here are the photos he brought from the trip.

This plane is not a bomber. This is a weather scout which was flying around before the bombers took off.

The weather scout plane took a couple of flights in two different directions and then landed.

And now the bombers.

It takes four hours to prepare such a plane for its flight. They take extra time to be sure that if they find some unexpected issues with the plane they will have enough time to fix them.

The plane and all of its systems get visually inspected. No malfunctions or remarks are allowed. Then planes get fuel and weapons.

The technicians report: “We have loaded the fuel, we have installed the necessary bombs and missiles”.

All their actions are being logged into a special log.
