Artem has posted these photos of Tashkent in the 1960s. Today Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan but at times it was another Soviet city. “All photos are made by my grandfather. Just Soviet people hurrying up to work, vegetable markets and barbecues, museums and the university being built”. Daily routines of the place.

    Tashkent was build by Russians mostly read some history….i used to live there in soviet times it was a great city…

    It’s interesting that there appear to be quite a number of private vehicles in the market. This means that the owners of those cars were engaged in capitalist activities even then.
