Kishinev is in Moldavia (Moldova), not Ukraine

  2. Kalasniko says:

The 4-th image from the end, it is not from Odessa…. it is wrote in Romanian language with kirilik alphabet, “Teatrul Moldovenesc de Stat” which means “Moldavian State Theatre”… so in my oppinion this image may be from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

This is 1970s or 1980s. Cars Lada and Volga are produced after 1970s.You can see them on the streets.

Did he load the film backward, with orange side to the lens or what? Why are the pictures so orange?

My family album pictures from seventies have also turned to orange. I don`t know why. Maybe there was something wrong in finnish picture paper or photo developement process. Originally pictures were ok.

Mine too, but only that time period. This happened all over the world? Strange. Thanks for the info Steve. By the way, these photo’s show a very peaceful life.

  6. Steve says:

The orange is due to age. The silver halide paper was not properly processed. It looks to have been improperly stabilized after bleaching. This is not bad today as there are programs that can bring the colors almost back to original. However, this is desired the owner should get it done soon as the deterioration will advance and the photos will fade completely.
