    New Year? These lands (former Polish-Lithuanian kingdom) celebrate from Christmas till Easter this way. The custom derives from ancient, pagan celebrations of winter solistice and upcoming spring.

    Det var så roligt, jag måste skratta,
    det kom en trekantig gubbe in
    han hade träskor och näver jacka och hatten kantad med korvaskinn
    han satte sig på en stol i köket…
