A set of images of Il-76TD-90VD (registrated as RA-76511) that belongs to “Volga-Dnieper” company who generally has five planes like this. They mostly fly at night and it’s a rare chance to shoot them in daytime.

good photo’s,it seemed to me that the engines extended on landing, i have never seen that before in a plane, if that is so,interesting.

  2. Mike says:

Very interesting airplane; kind of an off-road C-141 look. Didn’t they have tail guns back in the Cold War days?

  3. Martin says:

Pretty impressive aircraft, somewhat old but still good :-)

  4. Zoran says:

No the engines don`t extend, but its one amazing aircraft despite being in service for many years already. I`ve read that the lift capacity is just stunning!

  5. korusan says:

The “engines extending” is the reverse thrust probably – e.g. engines acting as brakes
