  1. Timothy Erickson says:

Interesting observation: In the early grades, the children are all sitting boy-girl in the two seat desks. In the US, at that time, students were either seated alphabetically or by their own preference. At other times, such as during gym or when moving as a class, the boys and girls were segregated (remember, “Two lines, boys on the right, girls on the left”). It seems that the Soviets were actively encouraging cooperative learning between the sexes while the US this was either not a priority or was actually discouraged.

In responce to Timothys observation. Communism taught that everyone was “equal”. Hence i would assume kids at school were mixed boy/ girl etc ? I can remember being lined up with boys in one line and girls in another at primary school in Australia in the 1970s.

  3. Mrgkova says:

The social programs for children in the Soviet Union were more than superb. Education, summer camps, and various extracurricular activities all ensured proper development. All at no cost or very affordable.

I was in school in 1968, amidst drugs, free sex, anti autority, student revolts, and a lot of social nonsence, and when looking at this pictures I have waisted my time on my school.

  5. Putin says:

    Jean, Wtf is “waisted”?

  6. Slaven says:

USSR was a great state that was ruined on purpose by gorbachev and his belazheva gang. May it be reborn again someday.
