A rather creative way to save on fuel is to assemble a gas producer with your own hands. It's powered by dry wood (a sack of wood for 100 km). The power has decreased, max. speed - approximately 80 km/h.

  1. D. Bunker says:

Gas chip generators were fairly common in the US during the Depression. They aren’t very efficient but if you can’t get gasoline they will work well enough to get you around and the fuel source is readily available.

  2. Jesse the swede says:

These things were very common in Sweden during WWII. Not for motorcycles, but for all other sorts of combustion Engine equipped vehicles.
Cars, buses, trucks, even rail-cars and buses. All sorts of vehicles used them. Try searching keyword “Gengas” as that is the Swedish name for the gas that is produced. Oh, and yes of course there is a society for preservation of Gengas-driven vehicles, don’t know the web-site…
