In the Big Technical Museum

The technical museum named After K. G. Sakharov is probably one of the main places of interest in Togliatti. It was founded in 1998, today it has many unique exhibits and is surely worth visiting.

The museum allows to trace the historical development of the automobile, engineering, armoured, aviation, railway, missile, artillery and naval weapons.

There is a cafe in the museum.

On holidays visitors can travel a bit in such cool carriages.

The territory of the museum is huge – 38 hectares. On the picture above is a 122 mm howitzer 1910/30.

    I apologize, but you have a mistake in the description below the photo of Panzer 38.

    At that time there wasn’t Czech Republic.
    At that time existed Czechoslovakia – where was made many machines, licensed from other nations.

    38(t) is Skoda built unit from the Czech army.

    Wonderful post!

    I am left with the impression that the military tends to make many, MANY different machines that perform nearly the same function. The small(ish) non-tank tracked vehicles being an example.

    Failure to standardize on a design must make repair and parts handling a complete nightmare, not to mention training of support crews.
