5 The Lost World On the Swamps

The Lost World On the Swamps

Posted on May 27, 2013 by team

Somewhere on the swamps of the Novgorod region of Russia, on both sides of one river, stands a fortress – monastery built in the seventeenth century with towers, belfry, temples and chapels. It’s all overgrown with young trees and no roads lead there. But it still stands and does not give up.

A memorable sign about the monastic elder who played a huge role in the restoration and development of the monastery in the nineteenth century.

It’s territory was probably really big. Now it’s all overgrown.

Certainly there has got to be some historical record of some sort for this site. It would be nice t include some history of this place. A place like this, can it be built and thrive without NO mention of it anywhere??

    Local party “activists.”

There are bones in the ground here, in shallow unmarked graves.

Late at night, you may sometimes hear the wind still whispering their names.
