Do Russians know how to SMILE?
It is part of the life (not so bright),and culture. We have this saying: “Laughing without reason, looking like idiot”.
Reckon 90+% of the Belarians in the photos are smiling, look closely at their eyes. Only the children show blank bewilderment. In fairness these people present their emotions honestly, much better than seeing an insincere plastic toothed “Hollywood” grin.
if you live in Belarus through that winter, i bet you would not smile either
or should i
They want to feel the nostalgia of the breadlines of the 1990s.
The raven-haired, grey-shirted woman looks very respectable.
I remember reading a news article in the early 80′s of a Russian who moved to the USA in the 70′s, and he said the first time he went into a U.S. supermarket, he then realized that everything he grew up learning about the soviet union was a lie. These photos look just like the lines in front of government stores from the 70′s, EXCEPT they actually have FOOD on the shelves.
It’s the first time I have seen a picture of a Russian food store with actual food in sight!
It is called “abundance” and everyone wants to feel it. Notice how the carts are mainly empty or carry children. No doubt their leader does not do much to provide them with abundance.
Do I see right? Bottle of Martini Rosso for 147 000 roubles? That would be less than 1,5 EURO??
BYR to Euro would be around 12.42 I think you forgot a 0.
Because everybody remembers what it was like before.
Everywhere in this world, some girls always love to shows her left-side face or right-side face with a litlle smile. They nver show their fully face except in the pasport photo
Don’t worry friends, all of this people have a job and normal pencil. And all the criminals in this country are in prison.
I watched a travel show in Russia most of the shelves where empty MICHEL PALIN UK FOLK WOULD NO HIM
Belarus would be a great place to make a Dawn of the Dead remake
Young Belorussians are probably the best looking people in Europe. It’s a shame, too, that all Belorussians live with such government restrictions on how they live and move.
This made me smile. How wonderful for them. AND THE REST OF YOU: the people that started this website don’t have to provide pictures of Russia, they are doing it as a kindness. Please remember that when you spit off your insults like it doesn’t matter-because it does. Every act of our lives strikes a chord that will vibrate in eternity. These people are our brothers and sisters. We are all in this as one.
