    Epiphany 2013 In Russia

    27
Posted on January 20, 2013 by team

Epiphany is one of the twelve major Orthodox holidays. It is celebrated in honor of baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. Traditionally Russians plunge into сonsecrated ice cold water. Now we are about to see how the holiday was celebrated in different Russian cities this year.

Pointless stupidity to prove one’s “devotion” to a belief system based on fairy stories. The boy- child looks terrified as “mother” helps to expose him to the dangerously freezing experience, if this child abuse was not cloaked as a “religious” event, mom would lose custody.

“fairy stories” and “dangerously freezing experience”? Dangerous is your stupidity and ignorance! Next time when you want to post something, take your pills first. Maybe that will help you.

What a ignorant and bigot comment. You sound like such a warm, loving and fun person. I would hate to know if you have children one day.

It’s called “faith”. Some people like it, some people want it, some people need it.
Why do you care so much what other people do? Why do you want to run other people’s lives so much? You sound a lot like hitler, or stalin, or mao. Wow…. pretty sick.

Getting the end of your penis chopped back in the name of religion is “traditional”, “harmless fun” too I suppose- SHEEPLE, the real danger to a peaceful world.

American non-believer is the most stupid being. They stop believe in religion but forgot that believe science also same as believe religion. Non-believer believe in science that sun full of hydrogen, but never ever wonder has anyone have already go to the sun to proof it is really there hydrogen or else. Having faith is believes in thing you didn’t know true or not. Than to be more devotees in faith, is to study and search for answer whether it is true or not.

Meh. I am not believer myself but I join these people every year simply because I like the tradition. There’s no need “to prove devotion”. It’s fun and not dangerous.

Even if you don’t believe in anything it is quite refreshing to jump into cold water. Preferably with a banya close by.

I guess to be ‘civilized’ you have to be glued to tv, watch the superbowl, praise your government and become a fat lardass eating mcdonalds. Learn to respect other people’s traditions; it’s been going on for years and there’s no harm in it…get a grip people
