Winter Begins From Yakutia!

Posted on December 11, 2012 by team

It seems that the word “Yakutia” itself is chilly. It is so far and so cold, how can people live there? . However it’s the very place to see the real winter. It’s where the pole of Сold is located and where winter begins. You can start believing in fairy tales on this land.

The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest region of Russia, its area occupies up to 2/3 os all Europe. At the same time almost 90% of the territory is in the thrall of the permafrost. More than 50% of the territory is above the Arctic Circle. The temperature difference between summer and winter is over 100 degrees! In summer it’s rather hot here and people widely use air conditioners.

Tourists being afraid of cold avoided the region but now the situation is different. Yakutia has turned cold into brand!

Jewelry shop is advertised.

Wonderful photos these are. But I’d like to know how the REAL people live. This seems to be alot like a tourist brochure. Imo.
