According to the data of 2010 only 550 thousand Mari remained in the world. They are simple and humble people, they do what the authorities want them to do. They have their own republic - Mari El. However a big Mari group (about twenty four thousand

people) lives far from their capital Yoshkar-Ola, they live in the south of the Sverdlovsk region and are called "Ural Mari". Their ancestors migrated to the Urals back in the XVI century trying to avoid forced Christianization.

The main building of the Russian Institute of Sciences is situated in south-west of Moscow. It has more than twenty storeys. It looks quite original due to its top. People often call the building "golden brains". The architecture was made in the spirit of scientific vanguard. The building was "dressed" in marble and glass to make people

be proud of the Russian science and reverently tremble at a single glass at the construction. According to one legend that the "golden brains" are a huge solar battery. Though this is not true. It's technical ventilation and elevator rooms, a kitchen of "Sky lounge" restaurant which are inside "the brains".
