      I think the root of the problem here is that Russians, by and large, don’t have the same level of experience, as a nation, behind the wheel. It appears as though they treat traffic lights and lane markings as suggestions. This is a direct result of Communism and their desire to make everyone equal (which generally meant ‘the lowest common denominator’).

        Dashboard cams are far more common in Russia than the US. Meaning, we’re just as safe on our American roads as they are theirs — we just don’t have video documenation of it! :/
