This is in Chechnya,a muslim dominated region. This is still a sport that many muslims practice because their ideology teaches them that dogs are unclean and they should be despised. Islamic terrorists use dogs as guinea pigs on their weapons testing. Anyone who participates in this is senseless act should be thrown to a pack of wolves for dinner.

While many Muslims do have a dislike/fear of dogs to say they all do is a bit much.

What did you expect a pictorial titled “Prohibited Dog Fighting”, with a preview picture of dogs fighting to be, other then sickening? And what do you expect taking it down will accomplish, other then to placate squeamish folks like you who can’t handle the truth, yet don’t have the discipline to not view such material in the first? It’s not like you were tricked into viewing this. Censorship of difficult issues accomplishes nothing.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I mentioned Russia in particular because this is English Russia and that’s where the photos are from. It is not a problem unique to Russia. And just because sh*t will continue to happen isn’t a reason to accept it. You can bet Vick will think twice about doing that stupid sh*t again.

You are so true with this statement. From time to time, I take a difficult topic with my friends to talk and get their opinions about things. But instead of their opinions, I see their how instantly they become uncomfortable with it and eager to change the topic to whatever.
It’s like with eating meat. People will close their eyes upon seeing an animal being attacked/killed, but they will have no awareness how cutlets and sausages came onto their tables.

What do the dogs think? No one forces them to fight; they do it quite happily on their own. Just put two dogs together and about half the time sooner or later you get a fight, and more often than not they evidently enjoy it. Too bad but that’s reality, not some kiddies’ vision of puppy love for everyone. I am a professional hunting dog trainer and one of the problems I deal with is kennel dogs that want to fight, I have to take special precautions to prevent it because otherwise they will have a grand time chewing each other up.
Well kennel dogs have never lived a normal wild dogs life from birth. A pack life where their place in the packs pecking order comes about naturally over time. Put such artificially raised dogs together of course they are going to go at it to establish who is the alpha dog. It’s a completely unnatural situation though. Not how they would behave in the wild.
These wild assholes who have absolutely no humane sense, morals, culture and qualities of good society! Putin let those people have too much while they deserve nothing for standing up against Russians and fighting like those dogs. They all thank Rinat Akhmetov there for beautiful new city, free apartments, good jobs and great salaries and not being thankful to Putin who in reality created all of this and handpicked Akhmetov to rule his people while Akhmetov himself was an insurgent and terrorist who was shooting Russians. Now these people are so proud, like they achieved something and living their lives without facing responsibilities for their actions which very often differ from any moral sense! This attitude towards dogs clearly resembles their attitude to everything that is not them, not their kind and everyone who doesn’t share their concepts. All of this is disgraceful and very shameful to watch knowing that they represent human species. What’s sad is that many of them believe that they got all of this great quality of life for fighting and killing “impure ones”, but in reality it is Mr. Putin who knew they would think that, outsmarted them to finish a war and calm people down. They are receiving a great deal of freedom and even more they are abusing their rights and rights of others, pushing their luck well over any adequate norms and sense of etiquette. This post is a great example for type of stuff they organize to highlight their carelessness towards other cultures, moral and cultural standards.
Today they lead dogs into fighting each other, tomorrow it will be people again. They already introduce their young who never seen the war to mujaheddin’s antics such as pointing index finger upwards while palm facing away.
All of this is going out of control and I’m sure that Putin and Russian government won’t let this kind of “culture” follow a path to extremism, because people around civil world are already getting shocked and disturbed by their escapades – that is noticeable and absolutely made clear by these comments!
Dogs are ovcharka (shepherd) or volkodav (wolf killer). Dogs were bred to guard flocks and villages for thousands of years. Originally they fought dogs to find out who is strong enough to protect from wolves and intruders. If you don’t fight them, you find out if they are strong enough AFTER they kill wolf or wolf kills them (too late). This is different from fighting in U.S. Dogs are not fought to death only to see who is strong. I don’t like to watch and I would not fight my dogs but I understand history. Americans impose American morals on the rest of the world without any understanding – sometimes it makes me embarrassed.
Well that explains why they need to fence the area off, provide room for spectators, and make a good ‘ol family values entertainment venue out of it. I mean they were going have to do it to test the dogs mettle anyway…may as well have some fun with it while they are doing it.

From what i know, the dogs don’t fight to the death, and i don’t think the Chechnyan gamble over it. Many still live on farms where wolves prey; dog fighting was just a way to know which dog was stronger. This is what goes on in Afganistan, the dogs are actually very well kept. Do you think they’ll really kill animals that their earnings and investment depends on? If you look at the pictures, the dogs are still very much restrained, which is to prevent any death or fatal injury.
