Climbing the Radio Tower In Kiev

Posted on November 8, 2012 by team

Brovarsky radio transmitting antenna center is 259,5 meters (851 ft) high. It is the third highest construction in Kiev and in its suburbs. Recently it was broadcasting BBC in the medium range. The power of the transmitter is said to be 150 kW.

This is the tower itself. It consists of some dozens of sections 6,6 m (21,65 ft) each.

This ring is on the height of 100 meters (328 ft).

Those topes together with the top of the tower represent the antenna.

The waveguide comes from the radio center.

The foundation of the tower stands on the huge isolator (it’s as tall as a human). It is highly dangerous to touch the tower during the work.

The weight of the isolator is 1,5 tons!

This tower is situated next to the numerous summer houses.

    It’s the 180 meters (590 ft) “neighbour”.

These are Brovary and the cemetery in front of it.

It’s the view of the central part of the city from the tower.

Kiev gets lost in the fog.

We hope thrill-seekers won’t get to the tower or it may end so bad…
