    Soviet War In Afghanistan

    34
Posted on October 22, 2012 by team

The Soviet war in Afghanistan was a nine-year war during the Cold War fought by the Soviet Army and the Marxist-Leninist government of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan against the Afghan Mujahideen guerrilla movement and foreign “Arab–Afghan” volunteers. The Afghan government fought with the intervention of the Soviet Union as its primary ally.

The banner says: “The dead friends will be with us forever”, “Hello, homeland!”

The sign says: “The task of the homeland is performed!”

It says “Mom, I am back!”

    It writes: “Goodbye, Afghan!”

Wow. Looks like conducting a long land war in Afghanistan is a really, really bad idea. Good thing that no other country would be dumb enough to try exactly the same thing only twelve years later.

Why do they want Afgan land if you start in why do you leave the land without fighting to the end?

Don’t think the British found it any better the first time round. Nothing much has changed since 1840, eh?

Well, in 1979 the USSR also “conquered” the country with its army. The problem was what happened after they “conquered” it. The same story with the US and its allies today…

Actually, no. The Mongols entered Afghanistan in 1219 and the descendants of Genghis Khan ruled it for several hundred years.

The English empire as so many others before them found it´s grave in Afghanistan and so will the USraeli zionist “empire”. Anyone stupid enough to perpetually bleed it´s own country and men to death for a cancerous abomination like the squatter state in ME is doomed. You had it comming…

Socialism was too complicated for irrational, illiterate, tribalistic, religious fools to accept. Equality is a frightening concept.

At the end it was too complicated for the Russians too, so they abandoned it.

Communism has been tried and it failed big time. I guess there is no more to say about that. Responsible private ownership, regulation, progressive taxation, free health-care and education…these are more realistic and working better in practice.

Tiger: Take away “responsible” private ownership (it is a contradiction in terms) from your statement and you have socialism! And I didn’t judge all Afghans; just the irrational, tribalistic ones. Nur Muhammed Taraki was an all right guy.

But without private ownership you have no funds to pay for all these benefits. What is the state supposed to run? Coffee bars, chocolate factories, laundries, kiosks, organic farms, three star hotels? I am in for the nationalization of minerals and resources. I am even for the nationalization of other natural monopolies such as energy, electricity, water and sewage and the like. But nationalizing everything and forbidding any private initiative is just madness. Allow private ownership, let people get rich and enjoy the fruits of their work and then tax the cr@p out of them to pay for the infrastructure. That is how a civilized society works :)

Forget to chance anything in an islamic society. They will always obey to their traditions and to the laws of the Quran. It doesn´t matter if we speak about communism or western democracy. An islamic society will always strife to erect an islamic state. Look at what is happening after the “Arab Spring”: The Muslims Brothers, Salafists and Jihadists are getting elected, from Gaza onward to Tunis, Kairo and even in Turkey the islamists are in power and changing the society. Even within Russia we have the same picture: look at Dagestan or Chechnya which are becoming de facto autonomous muslim countries within the Federation, violating the federal law and constitution in favour of islamic legislation. It is just the way it is and nobody is going to change that.

There is no point to fight if you dont use burned land tactic, thats it. If your soldier get shot in village, then you go there and …. all f.ckers there, dont care about age, gender etc.

The reason that Afghanistan has been so seldom conquered is that if you win, you’ve got Afghanistan. Congratulations, you just won a steaming pile of nothing.

If they’d stop supporting terrorism, then everybody would leave that shithole alone. Nobody except them wants to be there, there’s nothing there worth having. But the only way to make money over there, is support terrorism or grow opium.

Is that really? If terrorism doesen’t exist it should be invented. This is the motto of neocons. This is the justification of dreadfull wars abroad and prison society in western countries.

If you want to stop terrorism then go after the sponsors who sit in gulf emirates and who enjoy the confidence and trust of the US government instead of bombing Afghan peasants. How many Afghans took part in the 9/11 bombing? None! How many Saudis and Egyptians? There you go…

There were no Afghans involved in the 9/11 attacks, but plenty of Saudis with supposedly saudi money (for sure not Afghan money). But Bush and Obama alike kissed the rugs of the saudi lords, to show that they are their slaves. And you are their slaves too.

Because in an alternate universe, the Nazi’s won and sent in their hoards of undead zombie robots who proceeded to remove everything living from beetles to Bactrian Camels in a scorched earth policy that horrified and finally united the Allied American Indian nations to come off from under their hands off Europe policy and halt the Fascist Menace.

Back to reality, nobody wants to accept the financial cost, soldier casualty count and moral stigma of wiping every living thing off the land in a 50 year war over some of the worst real estate on the planet.

You cannot solve social and political problems with military means. That is like using a hammer to sow a button, it is the wrong tool. The best thing you can do is to leave it alone or bomb them from the sky if they conduct terror attacks.

U think that USA would have learned from USSR, in hand to hand combat its not winnable
Of course if USA got serious about it like in WW2 [and grew some balls] and dropped a almighty BIG H-BOMB and made a car-park out of it, then they could actually have a win…

actually even alexander and gengis did not conquar afghanistan, the ethnic afghans known as pashtun use to rule the indian sub continent at time of the mongol invasian, they were known as the khiljai dynasty and were the only empire that not only repeled mongol invasion but in turn attempted to invade mongolia http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/MongolEmpire.jpg the image shows the extent of the mongol empire it doesnt not cover part of current day pakistan which was settled by pahstuns at the time plus the other part of current day pakistan and southern afghanistan might been drawn on a map as part of mongol empire but there was no effective control over it just like the north west fronteir provinces in british indian which on a map were part of british india but to this day is a “lawless” zone controlled by afghan tribes, in regards to alexander he spent 6 month conquaring persian and 3 years fighting to a stale mate in afghanistan against ethnic afghans who imdiatly rebbeled after the main army moved on, a bit history there everyone got the same treatment by afghans when it came to conquaring
