Don’t know why these keep getting posted.

But it should be obvious with two brain cells to rub together that most of those pictures are from scams. The scammer steals some picture of a pretty girl and puts it up on the wedding websites. It’s the Russian version of a 419 scam.

That first girl doesn’t even look Russian. She looks Danish or German or something, but not at all Slavic.

Indeed they’re mostly fakes, if not all of them.
But I’m curious to know how you can tell that a girl is or isn’t russian/slavic just looking to a picture.
The first girl could be basically from anywhere from North America to Siberia.

Stereotypes and clichés are living a long life…

By the shape of her face. It looks Germanic to me. By comparison, girl #6, as well as several others, have very Slavic looking features.

It’s not a stereotype to observe that people with different ethnicity have different features. If I showed you a picture of an Italian girl and a Japanese girl, would you not be able to figure out which girl is from where?

Sometimes it can be hard to tell if they are Russian unless you find out if they are.No one in Russia new that I was from the USA when I was there for 2 weeks. They only found out when I had to say something like when I did not bring a bag to the store when I walked there alone to buy water or when a man who worked in a shop helped me unlock the locker I used and I said thank you to him in Russian.

That’s ironic. I had the exact opposite experience. People would stare at me all the time, the whole 2+ months I was visiting. When asking some friends, they told me that I definitely did NOT look Russian. To my American eyes, I looked just as white and average as those around me, so I don’t know what differences they were noticing. Sometimes my Russian wife (and no, not from a ‘wedding service’ ;) will see someone and say, “They look Russian.” Sometimes, now that I’ve been there, I can see the features that give clues.

I wonder if it’s possible that many Germans had visited Russia some time ago and had many children?

Did you know that in 1900, there were more than 2 MILLION Germans living in Russia? Yes, they had MANY children with Russian ladies.

Please, tell us more about what Russians “look like.”

Russians are very diverse, so you really cannot tell who is actually who over there. So you have all the shades and archetypes over there. Some are more Asiatic, some are more European, others look very dark like Sicilians and others again look like Swedes. Probably they could all very well be Russian.
But to me one thing is crystal-clear: I like the girl with the tiger :)

Yes, some teenage boys scamming desperate guys from the west and milking their money. They usually get arrested after a couple of years and than you see some 18 year old nerd who made 200,000USD in one or two years in cash via Western Union transfers :) – the pics are sometimes the girlfriends or even more blatant, some cover girl pics :)

The real women are scams too. All the Russian dating sites are BS scammmers. Just a matter of what type of scam they’re running!

It is hopeless. If you really think that these dating sites leading anywhere you must live in lala-land. If you are living in Russia or if you happen to have Russians at your local university you may get to know them and eventually something will work or maybe not, but that is it. It is not 1997 anymore, where everybody in the east was so desperate that swim-suit-models with PhDs married pot-bellied lower-middle-class westerners with 60m² three room condos and a used Volkswagen Jetta. Besides I give you a tip: most Russian girls think that westerners are too feminine and cannot handle a women. And of course they are afraid to be treated as 2nd class women due to that stereotypes. So at the end they form up communities abroad and tend to marry the devils they know better. At least with my wife and me it was like this. It turned out that we actually came from the same region and were just living 150km apart. So we would have met anyways :)

I am from the Russian south and so is my wife (she is a Kuban Cossack and I do have Ukrainian, Armenian and Greek roots which is quite common on the Russian black sea coast). So we are both hot-blooded and our arguments can get very loud (including cursing, swearing, threatening with divorce and so on). I highly doubt that Klaus from Detmold, Gary from Blackpool or Bob from Kentucky could handle this temper :) . The trick is that you need the women become a little afraid of you, so she comes to her senses again and calms down and apologizes for being so emotional. Otherwise you will have to listen for her nagging for days. Usually after one to two hours of screaming, crying and tears everything is ok. But this should happen not much more than once a quarter or so. Otherwise it is too stressing :) .

Well those kind of surroundings could also be seen in the UK, France, Poland, Czech Republic, ex-Yugo…you cannot always tell from that. She could also be from any Eastern European country, including Hungary, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, ex-Yugo, Belarus…the list is endless.

Twelve years ago I traveled through Ukraine and Russia to find a wife, and met about 50 women, most from dating sites. Many were as attractive as these pictures, as most Russian women make an effort to look nice. Sit on any street in Russia and Ukraine and you’ll see a parade of beautiful women, dressed in heels marching by all day. I found that most Russian women dream of a romantic and loving relationship, and just want to find a nonalcoholic man who will value a family and not be excessively controlling. They would probably be happiest finding a Russian man, close to their age that meets those qualities, but are open to other possibilities and age differences. A few scammers yes, but surprising few.
