A Copy of Lamborghini From Ukraine

    54
Posted on September 6, 2012 by team

Another copy of a super car. A guy from Ukraine made a copy of Lamborghini from scratch with his own hands. He used various available materials and finally got an amazing result.

The process of the car creation are on the photos below.

Seems to be a nice job, it even could be the envy for some Chinese masters who often create similar replicas.

Without an engine he will not have the same performance as the Lamborgini. And for sure worse performance than the Mitsubishi.

Why would it be? It’s not using 20mm steel plate like you seem to think.

I can bet anytime that adding fiberglass parts on top of original surface steel plates would add more weight than stripping the original steel away and replacing it with your own.

As large fiberglass pieces as this would need, would weight at least 100 kilos: Whole nose, whole rear, both sides and large section of roof. All that on top of original weight.

The strength of the steel shows: You’ll need less of it.

absolutely great. one of the best cars built in a garage by a regular Russian guy! mad props to You, Russians! even here in Estonia, the best cars are owned by Russians. they do have another side of them, who make the cars butt ugly and ‘personalize’ them to the fullest (you know what i mean). and then there are guys like this and guys who buy a e32 750i and keep it absolutely like it came from the factory, ALL original headlights, taillights, blinkers included.
and the wheels, of course. that, to me, is the most beautiful car – completely stock car from the 80s or 90s, no matter if its a Honda CRX, Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord, Honda Legend coupe 95, Lexus GX470 or BMW 750 e32 (’91). all these cars are beautiful to me, especially (and many times, ONLY) when they are – 101% STOCK!!!!!!!

Really superb workmanship. Of course he knows that he is not going to get the performance, but as I think he probably runs an auto body shop for a living, what an absolutely great rolling advertisement on wheels for his skill

Not much. You seem to think that fiberglass is somehow self-supporting structure. It isn’t and 0,4mm steel plate is not much heavier than fiberglass by m^2. Add the necessary supports and fiberglass is easily heavier.
Joining fiberglass parts is pain compared to welding.

If you paid attention, you noticed that all of the original surface plates were removed so the weight increase is just additional supports (wire), hinges for the doors and additional steel surface area.

Thin plate isn’t heavy so it’s tens of kilos, not hundreds, easily fixed by losing back seats.

Fiberglass is good if you are making tens of pieces and/or free forms with a mold, otherwise it loses to steel in almost every aspect and this car has very sharp edges.

Putin has worrisome authoritarian tendencies, but Russia has grown fast with him, making a constant recovery.

The “West” really doesn’t have a problem with Authoritarian Rulers or true Corrupt, Undemocratic Dictators (Mubarak, Pinochet, Somoza, Duvalier, Musharraf, Stroessner, Videla, Mexico’s PRI, Iran’s Sha, Arab Kings, etc, etc, etc…).

The “West” only has problems when Authoritarian Rulers don’t sell out. And it seems Putin hasn’t done that yet.

How “good” is he? Only Russians know that, I can’t tell because I don’t live there.

I think the guy never had the intention to replicate the performance of a Lamborghini, jut inspired on it’s looks.

Come on, guys, who in sane mind would mistake this modified car for a real Lamborghini? Not even close! Lamborghinis doesn’t have a front motor, it’s in the back, the front of a Lamborghini is very short because of that.

But, indeed, was a great workmanship, the guy has a truly admirable ability to work with metal, and this is the whole point of this car. My biggest congratulations to him!

As a guy who lives in the US, I have to say, I’ve seen far worse customs on the road than this. I’m in awe of this guy’s skill and talent. If he were stateside, I guarantee people would be beating a path to his door. If he were over here, he’d be on the same level with guys like Chip Foose. Yeah, it’s slower than a stock Eclipse, but that’s easy to fix. With his skills, I’m sure fabbing mounts and installing something like a turbo W-8 mill would NOT be beyond this guy’s abilities. I give it two thumbs up…WAY up.
