The Plant That Is Going to Be Abandoned Soon

This plant is partially abandoned. It is not easy to go inside as its heavy doors are closed. But still if there is a will, there is a way. Now we can see what the place looks like from the inside. One half of it is still used by people though the other half is being conserved slowly.

The working principle goes like this: a light-gouge sheet is stretched with a special pressing machine until it becomes very elastic. Then the sheet embraces the die.

So is this a running theme in Russia will all of Russia be abandoned soon? yes that was a joke so what’s the story behind these happenings why are so many buildings just abandoned so often?

    • vorontsevich says:

No money to operate them in the 90’s meant they were just abandoned or ran only on meager funds (usually by a kindly local benefactor). Today funds are there, but it would cost far too much to make them run again, or something along those lines.

It just doesn’t make sense to me that’s all to keep abandoning these places leaving all the machinery laying and materiel laying around. Some guy in here says the Russian economy is growing at a good pace if so then funds should be no problem
