    Place Left By Pilots

    20
Posted on August 23, 2012 by kulichik

The abandoned aircrew training center is located next to a former military airfield. The place that used to be in demand is semi-destructed now. It seems that nobody is going to use it and its equipment in future.

The truck was used to shift a plane.

Nobody needs the furniture and equipment.

What is the purpose of this?

    Tu-22M attacks the enemy plane.

    HURRICANE Space Navigation System.

    Monitors and projectors.

    Model of a bunker.

The furniture was taken from the bunker model.

The objects were probably used during lessons with pilots.

    A flight hangar.

Now only the trees are growing inside.

The door to the hangar is opened. The floor covered with different unnecessary papers and documents is very bad.

The roof is not there any longer.

What can be there in those cases?

    Old style computer memory storage

    Parts of unknown devices.

    Potential targets: London.

    What a sad view.

The wall is about to fall down any moment.

    ‘Dangerous area’.

They say the building belongs to military men till now and is locked. This is one of several objects on the territory the access to which are restricted.

And we are pretty sure we’ll see here plenty of other places that have gone wasted like this…

Hard to tell what it is in the first place. My first guess would be that its a KZKT-7428.

If so, then its 24 tons, 10m in length, 2.9m width, and has an engine horsepower of 650.

It is powered by a 38.9 liter D12A-525 diesel engine producing around 525 horsepower(12cylinder), and gives a maximum road speed of 37 mph (59,5 km/h).

“What is the purpose of this?” i presume that is a ‘hardware made’ representative map of tactical and combat operations of a certain area (for command logistics & training purposes probably?) they no longer need of those, since they use now modern equipment with dedicated software applications and flat screens etc..

What a sight. The control panels and office contents all just piled up and destroyed is awesome. Thank you Boris Yeltsin for accomplishing what America never could!

“what is purpose of this?” = training aid for radar plan position indicator
“unknown devices” = radio transceiver power amplifier and vacuum capacitor, so probably for HF.
