The evolution of the eye was not a special event/occurrence in the history of biological evolution. Our particular star releases it’s peak energy in the visible light spectrum; therefore, an organ with an aperture which processes information delivered by photons (in the visible light spectrum) would, through natural selection, be a practical development in the physiological realm.
