    Resort City of Georgia

Posted on July 12, 2012 by team

The first thing coming to your mind when you see Batumi that it has been much invested in. Very much. The city was practically rebuilt. Still there are no many tourists, beaches are empty in some areas, but for someone it is only the advantage. Batumi has a good airport, many hotels, cafes and shops. Stories about “dangerous Georgia” are nonsense! The people are friendly and hospitable, they do not often mention politics…

Tower of the local airport. The building is unusual and rather beautiful at night.

The investments are mostly American, Turkish, Azerbaijani. One of the main investors is Donald Trump.

    Original restaurant

They are building new houses and restore old ones. Sometimes it seems you are in France.

There are no traffic lights. Special people regulate traffic.

    Clean and beautiful

    New residential houses

The old part of the city mostly consists of two-storey buildings, the first storeys are occupied with shops and cafes, the second ones are dwelling.

Typical street of the Old city

From above it’s not so beautiful, so there is still work to do.

The city is still being constructed.

Some scenes remind of the Soviet past

Cigarettes are sold by items too

    Many currency exchange offices

Some buses leave doors open because it’s too hot.

    There are many taxi cars

    They haven’t repaired everything yet

    Local police

    Much fun at night

Out of the city, the ancient fortress

    Wonderful nature

One of the bridges of tsarina Tamara of the 12th century

The waterfall is as high as 7-storey building

    Winery

    Pebbly beaches

    Come and have fun!

    Location: Batumi

Beaches are much like all the French beaches in Normandy, especially Dieppe. At least here the water won’t freeze you.

A cargo cult at it’s best.
The nation is in terrible poverty, but they now have a half mile of clean beach, a few stupid buildings and clowns on segways playing a police.
I’m really not sure US ass can stand such a hard licking.

They are just giving money away to this country. I did not know you could do that when you are so in debt you have to fire teachers, police, etc.
