We are in the Perm region, at the chemical-metallurgic plant “AVISMA”, one of the largest world producers of titanium and magnesium.

It looks like a spacecraft

Without its products not a single Boeing or Airbus will take off

    A fantastic metal! It is not generally known, but during the height of the Cold War the U.S. needed large quantities of high grade Titanium to build the SR-71 spy plane in order to spy on the USSR, among other countries. Where were they to get this much metal ? Why from the USSR of course. How this was done is anybodies guess, but that is the origin of the material.
    Russia has the largest reserves of high grade Titanium ore in the world.

    All the titanium for the SR-71 and A-12 spy planes came from Russia by the way

    This is all true. During the height of the Cold War the U.S. was buying titanium from the Soviets, using third parties. The Soviets knew what was going on, but they needed the money.
