Someone from America needs to tell President Obama the end result of Socialism = Failure.

The great experiment ended in misery, pain and bankrupting the USSR to highest bidders for war machinery and power.

The KGB is still alive under a new name in Russian Federation. One cannot come out and protest or say anything in Russia it would not be smart move.

Thank God for Western Germany, Eastern Germany was a police state and is still 50 years in parts to Western Germany.

Germany learned hard lessons from Socialism America needs to look at history books to see its fate if they continue on with Obama.

I don’t know Mercal. We Americans are still cleaning up the mess caused by the banking collapse in 2007. What is this about economic failures?

      USSR was a police state.

Socialism = Failure with misery for all (shared equally) doing without.

Socialist leaders live in mansions and have parties while others starved.

Bad taste to exaggerate things. USSR didn’t starve at all, although, soviet leaders did live in opulence.

This dude was safer in Russia than in the U.S.; violent crime was peaking from the mid-70s to 1992. Drugs (and violence) were interwoven in the fabric of the country.

Someone from the World needs to tell Mercal the end result of Capitalism = Failure.

The great experiment will and is ending in misery, pain and bankrupting the US and the majority of Western countries to highest bidders for key capitals and goods production.

The greeding guilty CEOs are still out of jail in US. Majority can come out and protest or say anything in US, they still are free out of reach from true justice.

Thank God for Western Germany, Eastern Germany was a police state and is still 50 years in parts to Western Germany and yet they are the engine of EU economy.

Germany learned hard lessons from Socialism, yet only they can bail out and save EU economy. America needs to look at history books to see its fate if they would had continue on with dumb selfish republican cowboys.

      US was an imoral state.

Capitalism = Failure with misery for majority (if not all) because of some protected greedy ones.

Capitalist leaders live in mansions and have healthcare while others even starve.

Well one thing you got to say looking at those photos is it does seem like life in Russia is more interesting these days than under the Soviets. Moscow sort of comes across like a giant shopping mall or theme park in those photos.

I think neither capitalism nor socialism work – two extremes of human civilization model. Common sense work much better. Too bad no one want to hear from it.

What is the real problem here ? This socialism doesn’t look as bad as it’s supposed to. Small minds choke on it.

So a explanation for those not from America. Mercal is a brainwashed (mind controlled due to TV) Republican who watches Fox News. What happened is due to limited education and job sources they look to TV for all thier answers. They are normally racist and hate Obama for being black. The rich tell them lies via television and they buy it 100% They think America won the space race (they don’t know about Venus) and that we won WWII all by ourselves. (forgetting Vietnam, Korea etc). Its sad but every country has their less educated. Our just have guns and computers and love to repeat what they see and hear on TV.

You must be one of those hippies that has to have someone spoon feed you information. Your probably ashamed that your from America. Republicans know how to speak for themselves and not take all the sh@t that your liberal dictators tell you. Do you by chance draft dodge during Vietnam and flee to Canada. By the way, race has nothing to do with the fact that he is the worst president

I think there is no perfect system. A blend of socialism and capitalism, if done intelligently. Social market capitalism? We need government to regulate industry to prevent pollution and monopolies, and labor abuses. No matter what, it is always the greedy that ruin it for all.

It’s nice to see that at one point the Space Pavilion at VDNKh was actually used for space things. Now it’s used to sell plants in the Summer and the photo of Gagarin is shamefully covered up.

Looking back at these photos, it seems that Americans and Soviets weren’t really that different at all. I think that people that discredit any and every picture of a person or persons in the USSR as happy or successful or fulfilled with their life as being merely “propaganda” needs to take a good long trip to their psychiatrist and talk to them about how they think conspiracy theories are always right.

At the end of the day, communism fell and capitalism is on its last breath. People were still happy regardless. Live and let die
