    I like the name “Petrograd” the best. I also think it should be the Capital (more intellectual than Moscow).

      This photo was made during WW II and Siege of Leningrad. Historical statues were earthed to protect of bombing.

    Stalin regime starved/executed MILLIONs of Russians people.

      Get your facts straight. approx. two million people died in the gulags, around five million died because of the famine, and less than a million died during the Great Terror (popularly know to the west as the Purges).

      Your beloved Germany, under Hitler, killed more Russians than Stalin-ism ever did.

        Oh, it’s allright then, Stalin can’t be such a bad guy, he is just responsible for the death of only 8 million people – after all, he killed less people than Hitler, so what’s the problem.

    Some pictures are dated the beginning of the XX century but some of them – 50s and 60s of XX Century…http://media.englishrussia.com/112012/oldspb2/oldspb003-55.jpg should be taken in 1959-61, still Saviour Church on Sennaya Squarewhere it is Subway Station now and already Pobedas cars on the parking lot next to house on 2 Moskovsky prospekt
